In the 1930's in the United States, tractors began to replace horses to supply power for farming.  By the early 21st century, only some of the smaller farms used draft horses such as Belgians, Percherons, and Clydesdales to plow. This team is driven by one person, allowing the other to devote his full attention to operating the walking plow.
