The sway back and partial posterior paralysis of this sheep is caused by low dietary Cu and/or excess Mo.  A similar condition can be seen in other species, such as goats, pigs, and rats.  Failure in myelination and degeneration of nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord are the basis for this disorder.
