This 12.5 minute video shows the increasing potential motility of sperm from the various parts of the male reproductive tract starting with the seminiferous tubules and continuing throughout the epididymis to the ductus deferens. Note that this is the motility that these spermatozoa are capable of once outside the male tract and demonstrates the maturation of sperm as they traverse the epididymis, not the motility they have within the tract. The video contains examples of several types of circular sperm motility as well as a reduced speed view of normal sperm motility with rotation of the head. The size of the sperm head is about 10 microns.
