This reproductive tract was from a heifer at 32 days after breeding. The earliest presumptive diagnosis of pregnancy by transrectal palpation can be made on the basis of asymmetry of the uterine horns and the presence of fluid in the larger horn on the side of a fully developed corpus luteum. This is particularly valid in heifers.
