An ultrasound image obtained between the 12th and 13th rib of beef animal at a year of age.  In this image 12th rib fat thickness and ribeye area can be measured.  This can be used to determine a finish endpoint for fed cattle or can be used in genetic evaluation of bulls and heifers at year of age.
