The production of frozen potato products results in the production of potato processing byproduct or waste. This semi-liquid byproduct is high in moisture and contains potato peels from the steam peeling process, discarded potatoes, and discarded frozen potato products. The byproduct is typically included in growing and finishing cattle rations as a source of energy. Under storage conditions such as this the product will typically undergo anaerobic fermentation.
