Description: This .zip file contains 12 images of normal and abnormal dog sperm. All are scanned from the collection of 35 mm Ektachrome slides given to the Animal Science Image Gallery by Dr. Robert H. Foote (see NAL 4731). They were all taken with an optical microscope at a magnification of 1250x. Images 1-6 are as scanned except a scale mark of approximately 5um has placed on the image. Images 1a-6a are identical except labels have been placed on the images. Individual slide descriptions are as follows: 1. Normal dog spermatozoa showing Head, Middlepiece, Acrosome, and Tail 2. Abnormal dog spermatozoon with a bent tail 3. Abnormal spermatozoon with a broken neck and small cytoplasmic droplet 4. Abnormal dog spermatozoon with a coiled tail 5. Abnormal dog spermatozoon with a small cytoplasmic droplet distal on the middlepiece. (On the right hand side of the image is also a tailless head.). 6. Abnormal dog spermatozoon with a large cytoplasmic droplet distal on the middlepiece
