Description: Large square and large round hay bales (NAL #3471) conserve labor by comparison with small bales (e.g., NAL #4872). However, as they may weigh 600 to 1,000 pounds, special equipment is needed to move large bales. This image illustrates one machine designed to move large bales from the field (NAL #4952) to centralized storage out of doors in regions with limited precipitation or under cover (e.g., NAL #4954) to avoid spoilage caused by moisture. Similar equipment is designed to move large round hay bales (NAL #4955), and manage silage NAL #4956, #4957 and #4958).
