Cows facing out in a tie stall barn of the type found in northern dairy areas of the United States in the 1970's. The bedding was wood shavings and manure was removed with a gutter cleaner. The cows were milked in their stalls with a portable milking machine. NAL #3380, #3383, #3384, and #4571 illustrate the variety of tie stall barns during that period.
