Hinged, home made tail gate tucks in behind to floor chain slats to prevent it opening and when spreader is put in gear in the field it automatically opens. It saves getting out of the tractor cab or truck cab to adjust the door between loads or once the spreader gate has been set, the operator can leave it alone because the hinged door will prevent litter losses unless the spreader is operating.
