This image shows a typical feedlot in northern Alberta during the winter months. The pens are surrounded on three sides by a slotted board windbreak. The side of the pen which faces the feed alley is made of a concrete bunk and uses oilfield pipe as part of the fencing. The feedmill contains bins for feedstuff storage as well as a mill for processing feed grains.
