In 1938, Enos Perry organized the first US artificial insemination cooperative near Clinton, NJ.  The first cow was inseminated on May 16, 1938.  Initially, bulls were housed on the owners' farms.  A veterinarian Dr. James Henderson was hired to collect semen and breed cows for the Coop.  Circa 1950.
